We’re crazy for dots. They are lighthearted, have visual movement. They have texture. They have history! And they are just plain fun to wear…

At left is the stretch mesh top, layering sheer dots for a unique look. Her shorts are cotton/spandex, gathered at the cuff for a jodhpur inspired look.

At right is a super soft rayon/spandex jersey top, cut in a deep v-neck with 3/4 sleeves. The sides are ruched for a little extra texture at the bottom. Her boy-cut shorts are grey poly/spandex with tiny black flocked dots. Soft, soft.

Below is a soft and super stretchy scoop necked tank with a sheer edging detail along the neckline and armseye. The front features a sheer dot panel that shows off your button! Show off the work you’ve put into your midriff (and all that work you’ve been putting into your workout).

Rococo

A look at the behind the scenes of a loosely Rococo fashion shoot taken in the Woodruff Place fountains and gardens. Our hair stylist, Philip Salmon, did an amazing job using the girls’ own hair, some wig pieces and hair accessories by A Fox and Feather and Emilliner. Their hair was so tall, the photographer had some trouble when framing the shots. Our MUA, Misty Al-Eryani at Fiercelooks, was able to keep the girls’ look fresh and beautiful even in the 90+ degree heat and humidity.

The sun was so bright, the models had to avert their eyes or close them between shots.

Brian found some interesting nooks and crannies around the town square to do an impromptu photo shoot. The models definitely got some funny looks from drivers-by and pedestrians out and about for First Friday openings.

The models all tried their hands at spooking attendees by modeling in the gallery’s store front windows next to mannequins, perfecting their glazed doll-like stares and frozen poses.

We were a little nervous that the weather wouldn’t hold (it was threatening to rain all afternoon), but it turned out very pleasant, breezy and as the sun was setting we got a very warm quality to the light.

Transformations: Show Footage

Many thanks to the photographers and videographer who came to shoot the show! Fashion designers really depend on these individuals to help spread the word. Though a small audience can come and view the show in person, a much wider audience gets to enjoy the show via the photographs and video recording. The more people see your product, the more they will talk about it! A picture really is worth a million words…

Fashion Unbound

Sweet Revenge Lingerie will be represented at the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s Fashion Unbound runway show with two looks.

The Fashion Unbound call for designers asked for uncanny silhouettes and unexpected materials. To make it Sweet Revenge, I’m taking inspiration from structural historic underpinnings and modernizing the look for a tongue-in-cheeky look at lingerie. Corsets and petticoats mix with funky accessories to create looks that are technically undergarments, but the beautiful fabrics and startling silhouettes make them oh-so-much more.

The shows are October 22nd, 7pm and 8pm, at the Tobias Theatre in the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The last fashion shows the IMA held were packed to capacity, so you may want to purchase tickets in advance. The price of admission is $12 for public, $7 for IMA members. Designer Trends in Lingerie

So, I hear Jean Paul Gaultier is going to design a line of lingerie for La Perla. How exciting–I cannot wait to see what he comes up with. It does seem that lingerie is becoming more mainstream in general–we’re seeing it grace the runway mixed into dresses, with suits, day wear, etc.

Sweet Revenge is up with the times. Looking ahead to Spring 2011, we’ve come up with some basic pieces in more luxurious fabrics, which can mix and match with corsets and waist cinchers. Wear them at home, or layer them for a “going out” look, I won’t tell! The basic nightgowns/negligees are made of cottons and silks, while the corsets are made of damasks and printed velvets, all in a palette of cream, lilac, gold and white. Fresh, playful and just right for spring.
