Lingerie is an interesting subject for me, as a designer. Some of it I love: it can make me feel incredibly sexy, have a better body image, and heck–a better day. Guys don’t get this, but when you’re wearing a really pretty and fabulously engineered bra, you feel like you can take on the world.

Some lingerie makes me roll my eyes, and frankly, if ever asked to wear it I would feel like a complete moron. Though the guy might think it was sexy, it’s hard for me to feel sexy if I think I look stupid. These I feel were designed purely for the man…that kind of lingerie has its place. And it is widely available.

I wanted to try my hand at some fantasy/luxury pieces that are designed from the perspective of a woman, but I think they are as appealing to a man. Case in point is a piece that was designed for a photo shoot. The corset is meant to appeal to someone looking for a fantasy look, something completely outside of their usual look. The corset is constructed of a moire and silk, and a few different leathers. It is embellished with small silver studs and jet rhinestones. It has a tougher, edgier look to it–maybe a little Biker Chic, tough girl.

As all corsets do, it raises and supports your bust, and controls your figure into an instant hourglass shape. The all-over support from the steel boning feels pretty cool, too: you feel a little like you are bullet proof. Guys like them, because you get a lot of cleavage. And…I tend to make mine with a zip front, so it’s easy out.
